AMERICAN PASSPORTS

New American security regulations require passports for entry or re-entry into the USA.

If you are flying from the USA to the NWDUG conference you will need to present a passport, at airport check-in, to cross from Canada back into the USA.

If you are driving from the USA to Vancouver (you will not need a passport until 2008) you will need a valid driver's license and may be asked for proof of citizenship, such as a certified birth certificate.

It takes 8 weeks to get a USA passport so you need to apply by May 30, 2007 to insure you get it on time. You can pay an additional fee for expedited service, but this still takes several weeks.

Foreign nationals should contact their respective governments to obtain passports.

Emily Carr Institute is located on Granville Island in the centre of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In the 1970s Granville Island was converted from an industrial site with shipyards and metalworking shops into a colorful complex of studios, galleries, theatres, shops, and public markets. Emily Carr sits in the middle of these stimulating surroundings.
