* Duplicate Prevention for ELF Imports Dave Morelli Pacific University Are you having trouble preventing creation of duplicate records when importing test scores and search names? Are you afraid even to try importing for fear of the duplicate creation nightmare that would ensue? Come hear (and see!) how Pacific has tried to address these concerns, including how we arrived at our “checks and balances” on duplicate scoring, how we customized the elements used in that balance, and how we customized the duplicate resolution screen for persons to help staff doing manual resolution of those inevitable “possible duplicates.” All of our customizations will be made available for the technically inclined!

CM and an "Active" Application for Admission Tracy Waffle Lewis-Clark State College Are you having problems getting your communications management document to grab information from the correct application for admission? Is your most recent application for admission not always the last application in the stack? Or can you have two different applications going at once and want to do a letter for one of them? Well I figured out a way to have communications management pull information from the "active" application for admission. Come see how!
ATRK-- Introduction and Tips and Tricks Jaymalee Johnson Southwestern Oregon community College This session will help you understand the function of ATRK. As will as give you tips and tricks to building rules.
Creating and integrating an online inquiry John Fuhrman Albertson College of Idaho This was a project that we implemented here. It was a bit of a tag-team effort between our web developer and myself - i setup the ELF importing process and he build the web interface that matched the parameters we specified in elf. Using the web based import, admissions has cut their data-entry time down drastically and now want to get all inquiry responses online becasue of the time savings this process offers.

Tips and Tricks with Other Cohorts Pacific University Registrar's staff Pacific University “Other Cohorts” may well qualify as one of the tools in Colleague that is the most underutilized for its potential value. Got varsity athletes you need to track for the NCAA? Cohort them! Got students receiving veterans benefits that must be reported to the appropriate Federal agencies? Cohort them! Got students who go on a leave of absence and return, and still need to be tracked for institutional researchers with their original entry class? Cohort them! Got any populations that need to be grouped together for some kind of reporting purposes, and can’t find a place to code them? Cohort them! Come here and learn how one school uses them (including some customizations we’ve made to help with reporting), and then share your own ideas.

This session will focus on one schools approach to using non courses to track math placements and how tying it back to prerequisites using equate codes.

Have you ever wanted to make an program requirement look “neater” on an evaluation? Ever wanted to send a custom note ONLY to undeclared majors on their evaluation? Want to check if a student has been applied to a certain program or been admitted to a certain program and show that on their evaluation? PU will share some of the tricks they’ve learned to make this happen!

Training the Teachers - Getting Faculty to Use WebAdvisor Joan Bowen Lewis-Clark State College How do you get faculty members to use WebAdvisor? Are they still looking for class rosters in their campus mailboxes? Do they want to submit grades on paper rosters? Come share ideas about what works (and what doesn't) as we strive to provide more and more services for faculty on WebAdvisor.
Duplicate Resolution: Covering all the Bases Katie Morgan & Dave Morelli Pacific University We will cover our institutional procedures for addressing duplicate records for persons and organizations. Included will be an outline of our resolution group, technical procedures and tools used in the cleanup process, and also how we documented the procedures.

ActiveCampus Portal from an End-User Perspective Laurel Stiller Datatel, Inc. Join us for a high-level overview and discussion of the new Datatel portal.
